Indian Border Security Force Detains Bangladeshi National in Feni After Alleged Cross-Border Confrontation

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have detained a Bangladeshi national along the Parshuram border in Feni, subsequently handing him over to the Belonia police in India. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon near border pillar number 2163 in the North Kolapara-Amzadnagar area.
The detained man has been identified as 25-year-old Mohammad Sujon, a resident of North Kolapara village under the Parshuram municipality and son of Belal Mia.
According to family members and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officials, Sujon was collecting firewood near the border when he was apprehended by BSF personnel. His wife, Ayesha Akter, alleged that Sujon was targeted by local individuals in India who held a grudge against him and deliberately facilitated his detention by informing the BSF.
Lieutenant Colonel MM Zillur Rahman, commanding officer of the BGB 4 Feni Battalion, confirmed that the authorities are aware of the detention. He stated that the BGB has initiated communication with their Indian counterparts and is working to secure the man’s return through established legal channels.
