Bangladesh Secures Major Target

Bangladesh bowlers restricted visiting New Zealand to 182 runs for six wickets in their T20 series opener, despite a strong start by the visitors, in Chittagong on Tuesday. Bangladesh needs 183 runs to win.
New Zealand appeared poised to surpass 200 runs after a blistering opening partnership. They amassed 61 runs for the loss of just one wicket in the powerplay and reached 100 before the halfway mark of their 20 overs.
Openers Katene Clarke and Dane Cleaver both registered half-centuries, and captain Nick Kelly and Josh Clarkson also contributed with responsible innings. However, Bangladesh’s bowlers tightened their grip in the latter stages, preventing New Zealand from reaching their initial scoring trajectory.
For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain was the most successful bowler, taking two wickets. Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Mahedi Hasan each claimed one wicket.
