Prime Minister Tarique Rahman declared on Sunday that safeguarding national interests, sovereignty, and self-respect will serve as the foundational pledge for the future of Bangladesh. Speaking at an event held on Sunday morning at the Savar Cantonment, where he conferred National Standards (national flags) to several battalions and regiments, the premier emphasized that Bangladesh seeks to strengthen friendship and cooperation with all nations on the basis of mutual respect and equality.
Addressing the military gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted that the government is steadfastly continuing its initiatives to transform the armed forces into a more technology-driven, proficient, disciplined, professional, and modern institution. He noted that the true strength of a modern military force transcends mere weaponry, equipment, or manpower, asserting that its real power resides in discipline, expertise, leadership, morality, rigorous training, public trust, and, above all, an unyielding chain of command.
