Woman dies after mud wall collapses in Rajshahi following heavy rainfall

A 27-year-old woman died early Sunday after the wall of her earthen house collapsed in Tanore, Rajshahi, following heavy overnight rainfall. The victim, identified as Saheda Begum, was sleeping inside her residence in Bonkeshor Chakpara village when the incident occurred.
Local residents and family members reported that the region experienced intense precipitation throughout the night. At approximately 5:00 a.m., the saturated mud wall of the dwelling gave way, burying the victim under the debris.
Family members immediately rushed Saheda Begum to the Tanore Upazila Health Complex to receive emergency medical attention. Despite the efforts of the attending medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at 7:00 a.m.
Mahmudul Hasan, the Officer-in-Charge of Tanore Police Station, confirmed the details of the fatality. He stated that authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the structural failure of the home.
