Former and current students of the school have organized human chain and public signature program to protest against the decision of organizing political rally in Kushtia Zilla school grounds. Today, Monday around 12 o'clock in front of the main gate of the school, they performed this program by standing on the side of the Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway. Later they submitted a written application to the District Commissioner.
The students' demand is to destroy the long-standing tradition of Kushtia District School and not to use the school ground and to keep it out of party political programs in future.

Next Saturday, the long march will come out from Dhaka under the banner of 11 teams. It will go to Khulna via Gopalganj, then via Jessore to Kushtia and the concluding rally will be held. For this, the 11-party alliance has prepared in Kushtia. Big billboards have been hung in different places of the district. Big billboards have also been hung on both sides of the main gate of Kushtia Zilla School. Recently, the top leaders of the party held a press conference and said that they are preparing to hold a long march rally at Kushtia District School Ground. The billboard is also campaigning that the final rally will be held at Kushtia Zilla school ground at 5:30 pm next Saturday.
Hundreds of students participated in the human chain today at noon. They were holding placards. They demanded not to hold political rally in the school grounds. They also demanded that no political party should get any opportunity in the future.
Mujibur Rahman, a former student of the school who participated in the human chain, told Prothom Alo, "We did not stand in human chain against any political party. No political event has ever been held in the district school grounds. We stand to uphold this tradition. We will be vocal that no political party should organize such an event in the future.
According to district administration sources, on October 13, Secretary of District Jamaat Enamul Haque Shaheed Abrar submitted a written application to the District Commissioner seeking allocation of Fahad Stadium ground. He mentioned that, on the occasion of Long March, permission has been requested to use the stadium on the scheduled day with advance preparation. After this application, on October 25, the assistant commissioner of the Deputy Commissioner's office Zakyul Alam sent the application to the Superintendent of Police. It has been asked to give a report with a clear opinion on whether there is a danger of deterioration of the law and order situation if permission is given there.
Meanwhile, District Jamaat Secretary Enamul Haque made another request to the District Commissioner on October 18. In that application, he sought allotment of Kushtia District School grounds for the closing rally of the Long March.
Today around 4:30 pm, Deputy Commissioner Towhid Bin-Hasan told Prothom Alo, "The application for the field allocation of Shaheed Abrar Fahad Stadium has been sent to the Superintendent of Police. I have not received any report so far. Subject to receiving the report, I can inform the matter by tonight.
The Deputy Commissioner also said, 'Kushtia District School Ground is very small. Apart from that, the students' exams are going on there. I can give a quick decision based on overall consideration. The decision to give any permission to anyone regarding the application of the Zilla Jamaat has not yet been communicated orally or in writing.

After coming out, Mubarak Hossain told the media that the headmaster of the school had given permission to break down the wall of the district school ground in Rangpur. After that assembly, the wall has been made. Hundreds of thousands of people participated in the rally there. An application has been made for permission to assemble in the district school here. The long march closing rally will be held on October 31 at Kushtia Zilla School grounds. That preparation is going ahead.
