Youth Wing Official Shot Dead in Public Execution at Raozan Market

A senior leader of the Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal was shot and killed in a targeted public attack at Choumuhani Bazar in the Pahartali Union of Raozan Upazila on Saturday afternoon. The victim, 45-year-old Masudul Haque Chowdhury, served as the senior joint convener of the Rangunia Upazila Juba Dal and was the younger brother of former Betagi Union Parishad chairman Muhammad Swapan.
Witness accounts indicate that the attack occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. while Chowdhury was standing in front of a pharmacy. A group of five to seven armed individuals arrived at the scene in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, opened fire at close range, and fled the area immediately afterward in the same vehicle. Chowdhury sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including to the head, and died instantly at the scene.

Local law enforcement arrived shortly after the incident to secure the area and initiate an investigation. Muhammad Belayat Hossain, assistant superintendent of police for the Raozan-Rangunia circle, confirmed the fatality and the identity of the victim. Authorities have stated that an investigation is underway and further details regarding the motive and the perpetrators will be released as the inquiry progresses.
