Two men were killed and at least 40 others injured during a violent clash between residents of two villages in the Bahubal upazila of Habiganj on Monday. The fatalities, identified as 53-year-old Selu Mia and 37-year-old Helal Mia, were the result of a long-standing property dispute that escalated into open confrontation.

Local authorities report that the violence stemmed from a protracted disagreement between community leaders from Aditya-pur and Arichapur villages over a pathway situated near a local graveyard. The situation deteriorated early Monday afternoon when between 200 and 250 individuals armed with machetes, spears, clubs, and bricks engaged in an initial skirmish.
