Two brothers drowned in pond while playing football in Sonargaon

Two brothers died after drowning in pond water while playing football in Sonargaon, Narayanganj. This incident took place in Rayertek village of the upazila around 11 o’clock on Friday.

The names of the two dead brothers are Adnan (10) and Abraham (7). Their home is in Kushtia. Their father Ziaur Rahman works in Adamji EPZ in Siddhirganj. His family lived in a rented house in Rayertek village of Kanchpur union in Sonargaon for four years. Both the children were students of Abdullah Ibn Masood (RA) Madrasah in Old Bazar, Kanchpur.

According to the family and local sources, two brothers went to play football at the pond next to the house around 10:30 this Friday morning. The ball falls into the pond while playing. While retrieving the ball from the pond, both of them fall into the water. Later, the local residents recovered the bodies of the two brothers from the pond.

Eyewitness Roni Hossain said that the two children were rescued after going down to the pond and were taken to a local hospital where the doctor declared them dead.

Ziaur Rahman, the father of two children, said that the bodies will be buried in two coffins.
