Three dead in collision between bus and cattle truck in Kishoreganj

Three people were killed and three others injured following a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a livestock-laden pickup truck in Kishoreganj’s Pakundia upazila on Monday afternoon. The accident, which also resulted in the death of seven cattle, occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near the Sukhiabazar area on the Dhaka-Kishoreganj highway.
The victims, all of whom were traveling in the pickup truck, have been identified as 35-year-old Billal Hossain, 39-year-old Abu Said, and 39-year-old Abdus Sobhan. All three men were residents of Kundarpara village in the Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi district. Among the three injured individuals, whose identities have not yet been released, is a bus conductor.

According to local accounts, the passenger bus, operated by the Anannya Classic transport service, was traveling from Dhaka toward Kishoreganj, while the pickup truck was heading in the opposite direction toward Narsingdi. The two vehicles collided with significant force in front of a BRAC Bank branch in Sukhiabazar, leaving the smaller pickup truck severely mangled.
Personnel from the Pakundia Fire Service and local police were dispatched to the scene to conduct rescue operations and clear the wreckage. Pakundia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Arifur Rahman confirmed the fatalities and stated that authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are preparing to take necessary legal measures.
