Three ‘bomb-like’ objects in house in Kalaroa, surrounded by police

In Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira, three bomb-like objects were found in a house, causing panic in the area. The police surrounded the area after receiving the information. Besides, Jessore cantonment bomb disposal team has been informed.

The incident took place in Paschimpara of Chandanpur village of Ward No. 3 of Chandanpur Union of the upazila at around 8:30 am on Thursday. The bomb disposal team did not reach the spot till 8pm.

The owner of the house is two sisters Sajeda and Majida. They said that when they woke up in the morning and went out, they found the collapsible gate, the kitchen and three bomb-like objects tied to a sorghum tree. They could not leave the house due to fear and informed the local residents.

The victims claimed that they had an argument with their neighbors a few months ago. Since then, various problems are arising in their house.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Officer-in-charge of Kalaroa police station HM Shaheen told Prothom Alo around 8:00 pm that the matter is being investigated. Jessore cantonment bomb disposal squad has been informed. They will come and inspect the items and take necessary action.
