The police could not arrest anyone in the case of five murders in Gazipur’s Kapasia even after three days. A case has been filed at Kapasia police station alleging that the householder Forkan Mia (40) killed his wife, three children and brother-in-law and ran away. Forkan was made an accused in the case last Saturday night. Three to four unidentified accused.
Last Saturday morning, the bodies of a woman, her three daughters and five people, including her brother, were recovered from a house in Routkona village of Sadar Union of Kapasia upazila. The deceased are Shahadat Hossain Molla’s daughter Sharmin Akhter (30), Meem Khanam (15), Sharmin’s daughter, Umme Habiba (8), Mosa. Faria (2) and brother Rasul Mia (22).

Accused for this murder, Forkan Mia’s house is in Meri Gopinathpur village of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila. Forkan and his family lived on rent in that house in Kapasia in Gazipur for about five years. Forkan used to drive a private car. And his brother-in-law Rasul Mia worked in a factory in Gazipur Sadar.

When the body was recovered from the house, Sharmin’s frozen body was wearing a shiny necklace, bangles and a new saree. Many consider this matter mysterious. Hearing the news of five murders, many locals gathered at that house. One of them is Moses. Shravani He said that there should be an investigation into the fact that Sharmin’s body was wearing a new saree and jewelry on her neck and hands. According to him, the matter is shrouded in mystery. The fact that five people were killed by one person also deserves investigation.
Russell Miao, a resident of that village, thinks that the dress of the deceased Sharmin is mysterious. He saw pictures of the scene on Facebook. To him, the slain Sharmin in that picture appears to be staged. There were ornaments on the body. Whether they were already worn or not is a matter of thought. There may be a mystery in this incident. Apart from that, it is also necessary to see whether anyone else came to the scene that night or not.
Meanwhile, Aroj Ali, the brother of deceased Sharmin Akhtar and Rasul, told Prothom Alo that even after going to Gazipur, he could not see his sisters and nieces. However, it was learned from the local people that on the afternoon of the incident, Forkan went out with Sharmin and his children for a walk. At that time she was wearing a new saree and city gold jewellery. Aroj Ali claimed that they were killed in a planned manner. The same clothes that Sharmin was wearing while traveling were the same clothes he was wearing at the time of the murder.
Shahadat Hossain, the father of deceased Sharmin Akhter and Rasul, said that they do not know anything about whether new clothes and jewelry were worn on Sharmin. After reaching the spot, the police did not allow them to enter the house. As a result, he could not see with his own eyes what was on the girl. However, he said that he had heard such words in person. Shahadat Hossain also said that the whole incident seemed to him to be a drama arranged by Forkan. After the murder, there may have been an attempt to stage a drama to take the incident in a different direction. That may be why new clothes and ornaments were worn on Sharmin.
Mazharul Haque, a doctor in the forensic department of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur, told Prothom Alo that the deceased Sharmin was found wearing ornaments. However, he does not have detailed information about this.
Mazharul Haque also said, “We believe that Rasul Miah was accidentally hit.” He has two big cuts on his neck. After this, the two-year-old little girl was killed by suffocation. The eight-year-old girl was found with two stab wounds on her neck. The elder girl has sharp weapon injuries on her neck, face and hands. We’re guessing the older girl might have wanted to interrupt. This may have hurt his hand.
This doctor also said that the stomach samples of the victims have been sent for testing. It can be said if they were fed drugs or not after receiving the report. Apart from this, it appears that initially the woman was not sexually assaulted.
Eva Akhter, aunt of the deceased Sharmin, told Prothom Alo that after the incident, Forkan called his brother Mishkat and said, “I am done with everything.” I am killing everyone. I won’t get you anymore. After getting the news, five or six of them went to Kapasia’s house in the morning. Go and see that the collapsible gate of the building is open. The doors of the ground floor rooms are also open. Going inside, they saw the frozen bodies of Sharmin, three daughters and Forkan’s brother-in-law lying on the bed. Later, the matter was reported to the police by calling 999. With that they went to Kapasia police station.
Eva Akter claimed that Forkan had told Sharmin that he would get married again. Sharmin was distraught over this and there was animosity between them. Six-seven months ago, Forkan beat Sharmin. It causes swelling in different parts of his body. Later he was treated in a hospital in Dhaka. After recovery, Sharmin was staying at her father’s house. A few days later, Forkan brought his wife back from there. However, there was a quarrel between them regarding the subject of the second marriage. Sharmin told her husband that she had nowhere to go with her children, so she wanted to stay with him.
Copies of a complaint made to the Forkan Mia police station were recovered from the dead bodies of Rasul Miah and her nieces. But the copy has no signature. Gopalganj Sadar Police Station OC Md. Anisur Rahman told Prothom Alo that there was no complaint or GD in his police station.
Written on the paper typed on the computer, on May 3, Forkan made the complaint at Mia police station. Names of 11 people including his wife, father-in-law are mentioned there. It is written in that paper that the father-in-law took 10 lakhs from him in several stages through his wife. Besides, the wife has an extramarital affair with one of her relatives. His father-in-law and others tortured him by tying his hands and feet as he protested about these issues.
Sharmin’s uncle said. Ujjwal Mia said, ‘As far as we know, Forkan has not visited his in-laws recently. There was no incident of beating him. I think he wrote such a complaint to save himself.
