Miscreants killed an employee of Ibn Sina pharmaceutical factory by stabbing and choking him in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur. The police recovered the body from the bushes opposite the factory in Safipur area of the upazila on Thursday morning.
The name of the deceased is Shafiqul Islam (50). He is the son of Nawab Ali of Bhatgram in Nandigram Upazila of Bogra and was working as a production attendant at Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical for a long time.

According to police and local residents, Shafiqul Safipur Ansar lived in the area adjacent to Gate No. 3 of VDP Academy. He left home yesterday at 10 pm to bring his wife from the factory. Since then he was not found. After leaving the factory, the wife returned home alone without finding her husband. Shafiqul was searched all night but was not found.
Some of them informed the police after seeing a dead body lying on the bank of Ansar Academy Lake on the opposite side of Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical factory on the side of Dhaka-Tangail highway on Thursday morning. The police recovered the body around 10 am and sent it to the mortuary of Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital. When this news spread on Facebook, Shafiqul’s relatives and colleagues went to the spot and identified the body.

According to the police, initially it is believed that the miscreants left the body after killing him sometime last night due to previous enmity.
Rukunuddin Khan, Assistant Managing Director of Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical Factory, said, Shafiqul returned home after his duty at the factory at around 8:30 pm yesterday. In the morning we got the news of his death and came to the police station to identify him.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaliakair Police Station Shahidul Islam said that the body had multiple injuries. He said that legal measures are under process in this regard.
