Prime Minister Tarique Rahman distributes job appointment letters to families of July uprising victims

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman handed over job appointment letters to ten family members of those killed or injured during the July uprising. The ceremony took place on Saturday afternoon at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, according to Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu.
The recipients of the appointment letters included the spouses of the deceased: Sabina Akhter Rima, widow of Md. Sohag; Razia Khatun, widow of Md. Shahriar; Afsana Akhter, widow of Md. Abdullah Kabir; Aklima Akhter, widow of Md. Mostafa Kamal Raju; Sumaiya Akhter Subarna, widow of Md. Jewel; Hafiza Akhter Happy, widow of Ahsan Kabir; and Farzana Akhter Rani, widow of Omar Nurul Absar. Samia Islam Poppy, the sister of the late Miraj, also received an appointment letter. Furthermore, Sabana Akhter and Arju Akhter, the wives of severely injured individuals Abdul Matin and Zulfikar Alam respectively, were provided with employment.
During the event, the Prime Minister interacted with the families, inquiring about their well-being and acknowledging their loss. Reflecting on the sacrifices made from the 1971 Liberation War to the July 2024 movement, Prime Minister Rahman emphasized that these struggles were aimed at building a prosperous nation. He stated that the collective goal of those who sacrificed their lives or sustained injuries was to create a better future for the citizens of Bangladesh.
Addressing the challenges faced by the state, the Prime Minister noted that while the government operates under certain limitations, it remains committed to progress. He urged for a shift in perspective, suggesting that the focus should not be on what individuals receive, but on what they can contribute to the nation. He expressed confidence that by working toward this objective, the country could achieve the vision of the Bangladesh they aspire to build.
The Prime Minister reiterated that efforts to appropriately recognize the sacrifices of those involved in the July movement would continue. The ceremony was also attended by Fatima Tuj Johra, mother of the late Abdullah Bin Zahid, and July movement survivor Soheli Tamanna, both of whom have recently joined the workforce.
According to the Deputy Press Secretary, the family members and survivors expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister upon receiving their appointments. Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman and Moksedul Momin Mithun, member secretary of the organization “Amra BNP Poribar,” were also present at the event.
