Nazrul, the medical assistant of BDR hospital, was killed by RAB’s intelligence department

The victim’s uncle Habibur Rahman Mallik mentioned in the statement that Nazrul Islam, the medical assistant of BDR Hospital, was killed by RAB’s intelligence department. In his deposition, he said that RAB’s intelligence department found out that Nazrul was killed through people.
Habibur Rahman Mallik testified as witness number 4 at the International Criminal Tribunal-1 in a case of crimes against humanity committed against Major General (retd) Ziaul Ahsan in the case of disappearance and murder.
Ziaul Ahsan, the only accused in this case, has been arrested and is in jail. He was produced in the tribunal today.
66-year-old Habibur Rahman Mallick is a resident of Nalchiti in Jhalkathi. In his deposition, he said that his elder brother’s son Nazrul Islam was working as a medical assistant at BDR Hospital. On February 25, 2009, when the BDR uprising occurred, Nazrul called them in the afternoon and told them that he would no longer stay in the BDR hospital. He will get out of there. Accordingly, Nazrul left there and took shelter at a relative’s house in Keraniganj. Later, when Nazrul’s father told him about joining BDR over the phone, Nazrul said, “I will not join BDR.” Because, I have heard that the witnesses are being killed.
Habibur Rahman Mallik mentioned in his deposition that Nazrul Islam took a job at Madhumati Clinic in Kotalipara, Gopalganj in January 2010. He said, after some time, Nazrul took the family there. There he rented a small room in the medical quarter. On March 15, 2010, after leaving home for the clinic, Nazrul never returned home. In May 2010, a DSB (special branch of the district police) from Jhalkathi went to their house and told them that Nazrul’s body was found in Baleshwar river.
