Melted body of female Ansar member found in Kadmatoli, husband absconding

The police recovered the charred body of a female Ansar member named Sharmin Akhter (27) from a rented house in Kadmatoli of the capital. The body was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital for post-mortem on Sunday night.
Deputy Inspector (SI) of Kadmatoli police station Mushahidul Islam told Prothom Alo that two people lived as husband and wife in a flat on the east side of the fourth floor of a building in Jurain Commissioner Road area. They went to the spot on Sunday afternoon after receiving information from National Emergency Service 999. At this time, it can be seen that the door of the room is locked from outside. A strong stench is coming from inside. Later, in the presence of nearby people, they broke the lock and entered and found Sharmin’s dead body lying on the floor.

SI Mushahidul Islam said, there are marks of cut wounds in different parts of the body. Initially, it is believed that the killer left after killing him and locking it from outside.
According to the police, the woman’s husband has not been found since the incident. An identity card was recovered from the room, from which it was revealed that the deceased Sharmin was an Ansar member.

The deceased’s family address is in East Dholaipard area of Shyampur. His father’s name is late Shah Alam Howladar.
The owner of the house, Anjuara Dolly, told the police that they had been renting the house for seven to eight months as a couple. But she does not know her husband’s name.
The police said that the family of the deceased has been informed. More details about the incident will be known when they arrive.
