Madaripur’s ‘bomber’ Faisal arrested, there are 17 cases including murder-rape

The identified terrorist Faisal Talukder alias Bomaru Faisal (39) has been arrested from Kalkini in Madaripur. There are cases against him for various crimes including murder, rape, theft, robbery, robbery, extortion.
Madaripur Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Investigation) Jahangir Alam confirmed this information in a press release on Wednesday night.

Earlier yesterday, the police of Kalkini police station arrested Faisal from Kafrul area of Dhaka. On September 30, 2025, Prothom Alo published a news about Bombaru Faisal titled ‘Kalkinite “Bombaru” Faisal’s reign of terror, people outside the area, even the police are afraid’.
The arrested Faisal is the son of Bajlu Talukdar of Kalai Sardarerchar area of East Enayetnagar Union of Kalkini Upazila. Local people know him as ‘Bomaru Faisal’. According to the local people, the ‘Bomaru Faisal Bahini’ is associated with a large part of the crimes that occur in Kalkini, including theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, murder, explosion, rape.

According to police and local sources, Faisal Talukder has been carrying out terrorist activities in at least five unions of Kalkini Upazila for a long time. He is accused of being involved in various criminal activities including murder, extortion, theft, robbery and robbery by dominating the area. Recently, an expatriate’s wife was accused of raping him in Kalkini. After the incident, the victim’s family left the area due to insecurity.
When the news of Faisal Talukder’s arrest spread, people from different areas of Kalkini expressed relief. They demanded his speedy trial and exemplary punishment.
Police say the investigation into the cases against Faisal is continuing. His involvement with the recent events is being investigated. Besides, the process of identifying his accomplices and bringing them under the law is also ongoing.
Madaripur Additional Superintendent of Police Jahangir Alam told Prothom Alo that Faisal is an identified terrorist. There are 17 cases against him including murder, rape. He is a warrant accused. He was on the run for a long time, avoiding the eyes of the police. Several teams of police worked to catch him. Finally the police managed to arrest him. He will be produced in court on Thursday.
According to local residents, Faisal Talukder has been involved in crime since 2006. A theft case was first registered against him in Kalkini police station in 2006. After that, 15 cases were filed against him in Kalkini police station for involvement in various terrorist activities including robbery, robbery, assault, explosion, murder, rape, extortion. After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 2024, seven cases were filed against him. Most of the cases are related to explosions, assaults and looting. Recently, Faisal was arrested in Kalkini in the case of three murders involving father and son. He was in prison for about seven months. He got out on bail and got involved in crime again. Last year on the evening of September 22, Faisal entered the residence of a widow and beat her with a ramada.
