BGB brought back the missing youth across the border in India, posted on Facebook with pictures

A mentally unstable young man migrated to India through Daulatpur border of Kushtia. Family members searched the area without finding him. After that, the family saw the post with the photo of the young man on an Indian Facebook ID. After that, the young man was brought back to the country through a flag meeting between the border guarding forces of the two countries.

The young man’s name is Md. Bakul Mandal (25). He is a resident of Morarpara village of Chilmari union bordering Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia. The family said that he is mentally unstable. A BGB-BSF flag meeting was held near Main Pillar 157/2-S of the border on Saturday around 10:30 pm. At this time, BSF handed over Bakul to BGB.

According to BGB, Bakul disappeared from home about a week ago. The family members searched for him in different places but could not find him and broadcast the missing news on Friday. Later on an Indian ID on Facebook, Bakul was found roaming in Kolkata, India. After learning about the matter, the family members informed the Chilmari BOP in-charge of Kushtia 47 BGB. BGB then quickly contacted BSF. BSF arrested Bakul on Saturday with the help of the owner of the concerned Facebook ID and handed him over to BGB through a flag meeting at night.

Chilmari Company Commander Subedar Md led the flag meeting on behalf of Bangladesh. Mosharraf Hossain. Seven other BGB members were present with him at that time. On the other hand, seven BSF personnel led by SI Nitin Kumar, Company Commander of Charbhadra Camp of India’s 146 BSF Battalion participated.

In this regard, Kushtia 47 Battalion BGB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Kamal said that the mentally unstable young man was brought back to the country through a flag meeting. It was handed over to the family on Sunday morning. He urged the local people to immediately inform the BGB if they see any suspicious person or activity in the border area.
