The Local Government Division has ordered a formal investigation into allegations of systemic corruption and professional misconduct involving Kazi Mohammad Borhan Uddin, the Additional Chief Engineer of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). A directive issued on Sunday by the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives mandates a thorough, on-site investigation into the charges. The ministry has instructed Additional Secretary Mu. Moniruzzaman to lead the inquiry and submit a comprehensive report to the Secretary of the Local Government Division within 15 working days.

The official notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Copies of the inquiry order have been forwarded to the DSCC Chief Executive Officer, with instructions to provide full institutional cooperation to the investigating team. Additional copies were distributed to high-ranking officials within the ministry and the office of the DSCC Administrator to ensure oversight of the proceedings.

Government sources indicated that while the current focus is strictly on the investigative report, the findings could lead to significant administrative actions if the allegations are substantiated.
