Death by lightning: why does not stop the loss of life?

Yesterday, 14 people died due to lightning in 7 districts of the country, which is the highest in a single day this year. It is a seasonally recurring disaster in Bangladesh, peaking in intensity during April-May. Farmers in the fields, fishermen and poor people working in open fields are its main victims; In 2025, out of 263 deaths, 110 were farmers. The density of lightning is highest in the northeastern region including Sylhet and Howar.
