Khulna Youth Found Dead in Empty Plot After Being Abducted
Police in Bangladesh’s Batiaghata Upazila recovered the body of a 38-year-old man who had been hacked to death by assailants, authorities said Saturday.
The victim, Azizul Islam, a resident of the Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district, was found with multiple stab wounds in the Rangemari area of Batiaghata on Friday evening. His brother has filed a murder case with the Batiaghata police station.

According to police and local sources, three to four motorcycles carrying six to seven individuals brought Islam to a deserted plot in Rangemari shortly before dusk. There, they repeatedly attacked him before fleeing the scene. Passersby discovered the body and alerted the police, who subsequently recovered the corpse.
Law enforcement officials, including police and other security forces, visited the crime scene. Initial investigations suggest the killing may be the result of an internal feud.

“The post-mortem examination report found deep wounds on the right side of the victim’s neck below the ear and on his right back,” Batiaghata Police Officer-in-Charge Khandaker Hafizur Rahman told Prothom Alo. “It is believed that excessive bleeding led to his death.”
Rahman added that the location, a secluded area, led investigators to suspect Islam was killed elsewhere and his body transported to the site.
Police revealed that Islam had faced seven previous cases, including charges of dacoity and murder. The ongoing investigation continues to explore internal disputes as a primary motive for the crime.
