A murder case has been registered in the police station on the charge of killing Pir Abdur Rahman alias Shamim in Daulatpur of Kushtia. At around 10 o’clock on Monday night, the victim’s elder brother Fazlur Rahman filed a murder case at Daulatpur police station as the plaintiff. At that time the other two brothers were with him.

Carpenter Rajeev Dafadar, a resident of Phillipnagar village, has been made the main accused in the case. 180 to 200 people have been made anonymous accused. Kushtia Additional Superintendent of Police (Bhemara Circle) Delwar Hossain confirmed this information around 10:30 pm on Monday. He said that the police have launched an operation to nab the accused and the people involved.

Fazlur Rahman mentioned in the statement of the case, his younger brother Md. Abdur Rahman (57) has Darbar Sharif at his home in Philipnagar. On Saturday around 3:30 pm, his brother was staying at the darbar at home. At that time, 180 to 200 accused persons, including Rajiv, gathered together and entered the Darbar Sharif with iron rods, iron rods, knives, axes, bamboo sticks and wooden sticks. The doors and windows of the court were vandalized. Accused Rajeev along with unidentified accused entered the second floor of Darbar Sharif and beat one Zobair (31) with an iron rod. The unidentified accused indiscriminately cut Abdur Rahman with a sharp weapon to kill him on the head, near the right jaw, between the lips, on the snout, on the left side of the back and behind the knee of the right leg, causing severe bloody injuries and beating him indiscriminately on various parts of the body with a bamboo stick and a wooden baton. When the unidentified accused hit him on the head with the intention of killing him, when he pushed the blow with his left hand, the upper part of his left wrist was cut and bloody.

According to the statement, the accused caused damage of approximately 2 million rupees by vandalizing and setting fire to Darbar Sharif. The unidentified accused broke the steel cupboard in Abdur Rahman’s Darbar Sharif and stole Tk 10 lakh and 4 pieces of gold ornaments.

Meanwhile, no one was found when Rajeev’s wood shop was visited at Darogar Mor Bazar in Phillipnagar village on Monday afternoon. When shown the video of Peer dragging out and killing a tea shopkeeper there, he said, “It’s Rajeev.” After 5 pm on Saturday, he came to the shop and left. Didn’t come anymore.’

Rajeev’s house is a few shops away from this shop. Rajeev’s father was not found when he went home. However, Rajeev’s sister’s husband Jahangir Alam appeared there. He told Prothom Alo that he is looking after Rajiv’s wood shop. Rajeev’s whereabouts are unknown since Saturday. Rajiv also campaigned for Jamaat in the last parliamentary elections. Jamaat leader of the area lives with Khawaja Ahmed.

Khawaja Ahmed, a resident of Phillipnagar village and a member of the working council of Daulatpur Upazila Jamaat, was contacted to find out about this, but he refused to comment. When Daulatpur Upazila Jamaat’s Amir Belal Uddin called, he said he was in an event and said he would talk later.
