Four-vehicle collision on Dhaka-Chittagong highway leaves one dead and ten injured

A multi-vehicle collision on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sitakunda, Chittagong, left one woman dead and at least 10 others injured late Sunday night. The pileup, which occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the Barabkunda area, involved a bus, a truck, a microbus, and a CNG-run autorickshaw.
The victim was identified as 45-year-old Jaria Begum, a local resident and wife of Jaharul Alam from Miazipara. Highway police recovered her body from the scene following the incident.
Emergency responders transported the 10 injured individuals to the local Upazila Health Complex for initial treatment. Six of the victims were later transferred to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital to receive advanced care for their injuries.
According to Sub-Inspector Md. Milton Mandal of the Bar Aulia Highway Police Station, the accident caused significant traffic congestion along the Chittagong-bound lanes of the highway. Officers were deployed to clear the wreckage, and traffic movement was restored once the damaged vehicles were removed from the road.
