Five killed in bus and motorcycle collision in Gopalganj

Five people were killed and at least 20 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a motorcycle in Gopalganj on Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna highway near Bedgram in the Gopalganj Sadar sub-district.
According to Shiplu Ahmed, deputy assistant director of the Gopalganj Fire Service, the incident involved a Dola Paribahan bus traveling from Dhaka toward Khulna. The bus collided with an oncoming motorcycle, leading to a catastrophic impact that resulted in the immediate deaths of both individuals on the motorcycle and three passengers aboard the bus. The identities of the deceased remain unknown at this time.
In the wake of the collision, local residents, police, and fire service personnel launched an immediate rescue operation to transport the injured to Gopalganj Medical College Hospital and the 250-bed General Hospital. Medical officials have reported that three of the survivors remain in critical condition. Authorities are continuing to manage the scene as investigations into the cause of the crash proceed.
