Five Forest Department staff injured in coordinated attack during official duties

Five forestry officials and staff members were injured in a targeted attack while performing their official duties in the Panerchhara forest range. The victims include Range Officer Shariful Alam, Forest Guard Humayun Kabir, gardener Saidul Islam, staff member Md. Sajid, and Mizanur Rahman, a member of the Emergency Response Team.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Abdullah Al Mamun stated that the department is moving to initiate legal proceedings against those responsible for the violence.
The incident has drawn sharp condemnation from the Bangladesh Foresters Association (BFA). In a formal statement, the organization condemned the assault as a brazen challenge not only to the Forest Department but to the rule of law and state administration. The BFA has demanded an immediate investigation, calling for the swift arrest and prosecution of all individuals involved in the attack.
