In Manikganj’s Shibaloy upazila, another incident of firing has taken place in the dispute over sand extraction by excavators in the Yamuna river. This incident took place in remote Alokdia area of ​​the upazila on Sunday morning. Earlier, one person was hacked and shot dead in this area for sand extraction.

According to local and Shivaloy police sources, this time M/s Ikram Construction has got Balumhal lease in Teota area of ​​the upazila. 10-12 people arrived in the Char Alokdia area of ​​the Yamuna river at around six in the morning in an engine driven trawler. After that, they left with the trawler after firing blank shots to scare the people of the leasing company in the three excavators. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot around 10 am.

Earlier on April 3, a man named Mirazul Islam (40) was shot and hacked to death in Alokdia area in a dispute over sand mining in the Yamuna river. He was the manager of the local Teota Balumhal tenant establishment. Later, Kawshar Alam Khan, the lessee of Balumhal, filed a murder case with the police station, naming five people and naming six or seven others as defendants. Police have arrested an accused in that incident.

Shariful Islam, the manager of the leasing company, said that this morning a group of terrorists came to Alokdia in a trawler and fired two to three shots. Although there was no loss of life, a bullet hit their bulkhead. The matter has been reported to the police.
