Dhaka court grants two-day remand for husband of slain dentist

A Dhaka court on Monday granted a two-day remand for Md. Sohel Rana, the husband of dentist Sara Roksana, following her recent murder in the Dakshinkhan area of the capital.
Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Islam Junaid issued the order after considering a request from the investigating officer, who had sought a seven-day period of police custody to interrogate the suspect. The 42-year-old victim was discovered dead under circumstances that led authorities to initiate a formal investigation into the involvement of her spouse.
The court’s decision to approve the two-day remand follows the initial petition by investigators, who aim to uncover the specific motives and circumstances surrounding the crime. The suspect remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
