Daffodil International University Launches Advanced CAE Center to Bolster Engineering Innovation

Daffodil International University has launched the Daffodil CAE Center, Bangladesh, a specialized hub designed to advance engineering expertise, industrial-academic collaboration, and high-value technological innovation. The center, inaugurated last Tuesday at the university’s Sobhanbag campus, operates through a collaborative partnership between the university, the Proyash Technology Foundation, and six leading technology firms.

The opening ceremony also served as an orientation session for the center’s inaugural student cohort. Md. Sabur Khan, chairman of the Daffodil Group and the university’s Board of Trustees, officially inaugurated the facility. He emphasized that the nation’s future is inextricably linked to knowledge-based development and advanced engineering. According to Khan, the center is designed to foster an ecosystem where academia and industry integrate to catalyze national industrialization and expand a technology-driven economy.

Representing the international collaborative aspect of the initiative, Saeed Wahiduzzaman, co-founder and senior vice president of Gamma Technologies Inc. (USA), attended as a special guest. He described the center as more than a laboratory, positioning it as a strategic platform for international knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and collaborative engineering research. The primary objective, he noted, is to bridge the gap between global industrial standards and local talent by providing students and professional engineers with world-class technical experience.

The event drew a significant gathering of industry leaders, including former BASIS president and DataSoft Manufacturing and Assembly Inc. Chairman Mahbub Zaman, as well as former BASIS secretary-general Engineer Forkan Bin Quasem. They were joined by Daffodil Group CEO Mohammad Nuruzzaman, alongside university faculty, researchers, and representatives from the broader engineering and technology sectors, all gathered to mark the commencement of the center’s operations.
