Contempt in Facebook post: Tribunal sentenced Jubo League leader to 2 months imprisonment

A Jubo League leader named MH Patwari (Babu) has been sentenced to two months rigorous imprisonment for posting insulting Facebook posts about the International Criminal Tribunal. The Jubo League leader’s wife has been pardoned for the same crime.
Justice Md. The three-member International Criminal Tribunal-1 headed by Golam Mortuza Majumdar gave this verdict on Sunday. The other two members of this tribunal are Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Judge Md. Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
MH Patwari Babu is the former Vice President of Chhatra League. At present, Dhaka Metropolitan Jubo League North is the editor and publication. His house is in Senpara of Mirpur in the capital.
In a recent post from the Facebook ID of MH Patwari Babu, Judge of the International Criminal Tribunal. About 12,000 crore taka ‘Khawar’ fabricated posts were circulated against Ghulam Mortuza Majumder, former legal adviser Asif Nazrul, former chief prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam and senior Supreme Court lawyer and Jamaat-e-Islami central working council member Mohammad Shishir Monir.
The convicted Jubo League leader and his wife were present at the International Criminal Tribunal-1 today. Both of them tendered an unconditional apology to the court. Jubo League leader MH Patwari was taken to jail after the verdict was announced.
