In a case related to the murder of the convener of Inkilab Manch, Shaheed Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, the suspect is the arms dealer of Chittagong. Majedul Haque gave a confessional statement in the Helal court. After the remand of three days, the police produced him in the court on Saturday. The investigating officer of the case then applied for the recording of the confessional statement.

In view of the application, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman recorded the statement of the accused. Earlier, the investigating officer of the case, Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdul Qadir Bhuya of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), produced the accused in the court on April 15 after arresting him from Chawkbazar area of ​​Chittagong. After the hearing, Majedul’s three-day remand was granted by Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam’s court.

The remand application said that the firearm (pistol) used in the Osman Hadi murder case was recovered from Narsingdi area. A case was filed under Arms Act at Narsingdi police station in this incident. Forensic tests proved that the cartridges and bullets found at the spot were fired from the recovered pistol.

Apart from this, the serial number of the pistol can be retrieved by micro-analysis test. Investigation revealed that the pistol was imported by MIH Arms Company of Dhaka and sold to Islam Uddin Ahmed & Sons on December 3, 2017.

In February 2018, Islam Uddin Ahmed & Sons sold the pistol to Hamidul Haque Arms & Company of Chittagong. The investigation revealed that the owner of that company is the accused Majedul Haque Helal. His license was not renewed after December 31, 2014.

Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, convener of Inkilab Manch, announced his candidacy as an independent candidate from Dhaka-8 constituency in the 13th National Assembly Elections. He was shot on December 12, the day after the announcement of the schedule of the 13th National Assembly elections, in the Box Calvert Road area of ​​Paltan in the capital.

In this incident, on December 14, the member secretary of Inqilab Manch, Abdullah Al Jaber, filed a case of attempted murder in Paltan police station. Osman Hadi died on December 18 while undergoing treatment in Singapore. Later the case was converted into a murder case.

After investigating the Osman Hadi murder case, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Intelligence Department (DB) filed a charge sheet against 17 people including Faisal Karim Masud on January 6. The plaintiff of the case appealed to the court regarding the charge sheet. In view of this, the court directed the CID to investigate the case further.
