Chattogram Board Postpones Saturday HSC Exam Due to Severe Flooding and Weather Conditions

The Chittagong Education Board has suspended all Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations scheduled for Saturday due to severe weather conditions and persistent flooding across the region. The postponed Information and Communication Technology examination affects students across Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Bandarban, and Khagrachhari districts.
This decision marks the second disruption to the examination schedule this month, following the suspension of tests originally slated for July 8. The board’s move comes as heavy monsoon rainfall continues to inundate vast areas of the Chittagong division and the Chittagong Hill Tracts, paralyzing transportation and daily life.

The region has faced a humanitarian crisis over the past week as unrelenting downpours triggered catastrophic flooding and a series of deadly landslides. Official reports indicate that the death toll from the landslides had reached 29 as of Thursday. Authorities have yet to announce a rescheduled date for the affected examinations, citing the ongoing volatility of the meteorological situation.
