Bricklayer killed, 3 injured in Kishoreganj gate collapse under construction of Bisik Industrial City

A mason was killed when a gate collapsed under construction in Bisik Industrial City of Kishoreganj. The accident took place at the main gate of Bisik Shilpa Nagar of Mariya Union of Sadar Upazila at around 6:30 pm on Sunday. Three more workers were injured.
Deceased Russell Mia (25) is the son of Manik Mia of Sankamaria village of Sadar Upazila. The injured are Hasan Mia (22), son of Dulal Mia of Sankamaria village, Ali Swapan (35), son of deceased Abdur Razzak of Mariya village, and Rana Mia (26), son of deceased Golam Mostafa of Matikata village, Noabad union of Karimganj upazila.

Abdullah Khalid, Station Officer of Kishoreganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, said that a team of fire service quickly reached the spot and carried out rescue operations.
Akkas Ali, a resident of Mariya area, said that 15 to 20 workers, including the deceased Russell Mia, were working in the construction of the main gate of Bisik Industrial City. After rain in the afternoon, the centering was weakened during the casting of the roof of the gate. Later it suddenly collapsed unable to take the load. Russell Mia and three others were seriously injured in this incident. Later local people quickly rescued them and took them to Kishoreganj Sadar General Hospital. Russell Mia died while undergoing treatment there. Others are being treated at the hospital.
