Boishakh celebration at Prothom Alo office with songs and costumes

Room decorated with different designs with paper. Exchange of greetings by staff in colorful attire. The workers performed popular songs one after another. The workers celebrated Boishakh in Pratham Alo office today Wednesday afternoon with such songs and costumes. Family members of employees were also invited in the event organized by Prothom Alo’s Human Resources Department.

In the program which started with songs, Pratham Alor workers themselves played musical instruments and performed popular songs like ‘Ailo Ailo Re, Range Bhara Baishakh Abar Ail Re’, ‘Bakul Phul Bakul Phul’, ‘Baishakher Bickel Belay Prem Eka Gaan Shonabo’, ‘Geramer Naozwan’. Everyone joined in those songs by clapping.

There was ‘Subesh and Subesh’ award for the most beautiful dress up in the event. Narmada Das Mithun, assistant general manager of advertising and business development department of Prathom Alo, won the Best Subesh award. He was given a lungi and a towel as a reward. And Megha Khetan, publisher of Prothma.com, won the award for best actress. His prize was a sari.

In the event, a quiz competition was organized on the traditions of Baisakh. Anisul Haque, Managing Editor of Prathom Alor, Sadia Islam, Assistant Manager, Finance and Accounts Department, Dinesh Chandra Mahato, Reference Officer, Library and Archives, and Saiful Islam, Senior Associate Editor, Integrated News Department, won prizes for correct answers in this competition. The prize was cash. The event was conducted by Sajjad Sharif, executive editor of Prathom Alo.

A Boishakhi Photo Contest was also part of the event. For this competition, Pratham Alor employees took their own Paila Boishakh photos and sent them. The senior co-editor of Pratham Alo Vishal Bangla won this award with his wife and children dressed up for Baisakhi. Mahbub Alam A hilsa fish weighing one and a half kilograms was given to him as a reward.

Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman gave the closing speech in this event organized with the workers.

The event was presented by Siddharth Das, Social Media Manager of Pratham Alo and Maymuna Akhtar Chowdhury, Executive of Human Resource Department. At the end of the ceremony, traditional desi food Murali, Khai, Sweets, Nimki, Batasa and Kadma were served by Prathom Alor staff.

Earlier on Tuesday, Pratham Alo organized the Baisakhi festival at the Chef’s Table Courtside located on Madani Avenue in the capital’s United City on Tuesday. The festival was open to all.
