Bangladesh Cabinet Approves New Pay Scale for Public Servants with Significant Salary Hikes

The Cabinet approved a new pay structure for government employees during its meeting on Monday, significantly increasing base salaries across all civil service grades. A senior official at the Secretariat confirmed the development, which was subsequently detailed by the Cabinet Division.
Under the new policy, the entry-level base salaries for government personnel have been raised by 100 to 142 percent, depending on the pay grade. For employees ranked between grade 1 and grade 11, the base salary has been increased by 100 percent.
The adjustments are more pronounced for lower-ranking staff, with those in grades 12 through 20 receiving increases ranging from 115 to 142 percent. The revised structure aims to align civil service compensation with current economic requirements.
