Annual celebration of mass music coordination council in poetry, song and dance

Bangladesh Mass Music Coordinating Council has welcomed the new Bengali year with poetry, song, dance and recitation. On Tuesday afternoon in the capital’s central Shaheed Minar, their birthday ceremony was held under the title ‘Amra Je Na Jagi Ma Kemne Sakal Hoe’.
Among the organizations under the Gana Sangeet Synod Parishad, Rishij Shilpi Group, Kranti Shilpi Group, Bahnishikha, Satyen Sen Shili Group, Anandan, Vinadhara, Surtal, Samaswara, Uton, Ujan and Suranandan participate in party music.
Bhanishikha and Dhrithi Dance Hall participated in the party dance. Solo music was performed by Praloy Saha, Arif Rahman, Abida Rahman and Shrabani Guha Roy. And Ashraful Alam took part in the solo recital. Members of Shishu Dal Shilpavrit and Surtal also recited.
Nilufar Jahan, vice-president of the People’s Music Coordination Council and artist, gave a welcome speech. He said, ‘Last year was eventful for the cultural arena and cultural workers. Forgetting all sorrows, the new year will bring a lot of happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life. It is our hope that all the prejudices of the past years will disappear.
In his welcome speech, Manjor Chowdhury, general secretary of the Ganasangeet Synod Parishad, mentioned that Bangladesh belongs to everyone regardless of religion, caste and group. He wished everyone a Happy New Year and said, ‘A few days ago, a pir was killed in Kushtia again due to the mob terror. But we want such a Bangladesh, that in Bangladesh we all can come together and practice the original culture of this country.
Organized by Mahfuza Akhtar and AK Azad, the organization’s president Kazi Mizanur Rahman presided over the event.
