Abdun Naser Khan appointed Industry Secretary in government reshuffle

The Ministry of Public Administration announced a significant leadership transition within the government’s administrative ranks on Tuesday, reassigning Ministry of Industries Secretary Md. Obaidur Rahman to the public administration department.
Abdun Naser Khan, who had been serving as secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute on a contractual basis, has been appointed to succeed Rahman at the Ministry of Industries.

Khan’s career trajectory includes a promotion from joint secretary to additional secretary on August 25, 2024, followed by a stint at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. He subsequently served as secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division. Although he was scheduled to retire from that position last April, the government canceled his post-retirement leave to appoint him to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, where he has served under contract until this latest reshuffle.
