A woman was injured by a robber while taking money for her mother-in-law’s treatment in the capital

A woman named Shilpi Begum (40) was injured by robbers in Agargaon of the capital. He was attacked by robbers on his way to take money for his mother-in-law under treatment at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in Sherebangla Nagar on Friday morning. Later he was treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Artist Begum’s husband Abdul Haque is a businessman by profession. He told Prothom Alo that his old mother is under treatment at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital. Suddenly he needs money for treatment. Then he asked his wife Shilpi Begum to come to the hospital with Tk 25,000 from home.
Abdul Haque said that his wife was going to the hospital in a battery-powered rickshaw with Tk 25,000. When he reached the road in front of the Islamic Foundation building in Agargaon, five-six robbers stopped his rickshaw. At one stage, the robbers stabbed him on his hands and feet and stole 25 thousand taka and two mobile phones. He was first taken to the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital. Later he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital from there.
When contacted in the afternoon, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherebangla Nagar police station Monirul Islam told Prothom Alo that it was raining at the time of the incident. Attempts are being made to nab the robbers by looking at the CCTV (closed circuit) camera footage. No case has yet been filed in this incident.
