3 Ansar members arrested for creating chaos in Prime Minister’s court in Gazipur

Police have arrested three Ansar members on charges of creating chaos in the Prime Minister’s Darbar program on the occasion of the 46th National Rally of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces. The police said that they gave a confessional statement in the court on Friday afternoon.
The three arrested are Raihan Uddin Sarkar son of Afaz Uddin Sarkar of Samantapur village of Gazipur city, Ashraful Alam son of Yunus Ali of Samantapur area and Shakil Ahmed son of Yunus Ali of Nahrir Par area of the city. All of them were youth leadership course trainees and TDP team leaders in their respective areas. Ansar and VDP adjutant Masud Hasan filed a case at Kaliakor police station as a plaintiff in this incident.
According to the statement, a special clique had been active for a long time with the intention of disrupting the May 20 National Assembly and Prime Minister’s Darbar programme. They use instructor course trainees to organize various claims and negative campaigns against senior officials.
According to the statement, the accused were in regular contact with the trainees through a special WhatsApp group. An attempt was made to involve the trainees in the movement by highlighting various demands. At the same time, an attempt was made to create an unstable situation around the court of the Prime Minister by using unknown numbers and foreign numbers. The circle was also active among around 177 members who came to participate in an event organized by Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy, Safipur on May 17. Through them demands regarding increase in allowances, ration-facilities, permanentisation, preference in recruitment and various administrative benefits are brought forward. It is also mentioned in the statement that there was a plan to create pressure centered on the Prime Minister’s program to realize these demands.
Masud Hasan, the plaintiff in the case, told Prothom Alo that a case has been filed at the Kaliakair police station for causing chaos around the rally. Police have arrested three people in the case.
Sahidul Islam, officer of Kaliakor police station, told Prothom Alo that when the three accused were brought to the court yesterday afternoon, they admitted their responsibility and gave a statement under Section 164. Later they were sent to jail on the orders of the court.
