2 passengers of pickup killed in head-on collision in Faridpur, 29 injured when bus overturned

The accident took place on the Barisal highway.
The deceased persons are Jahangir Molla (40) and Alamgir Sheikh (50). They were residents of Kaidubi Sadardi Mahalla of Bhanga Municipality and Bangi traders.
Bhanga Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Helal Uddin said this morning that the passenger bus of Shah Faridpur Paribahan was going from Faridpur to Madaripur. At that time, the pickup van was coming from the opposite direction. The passenger bus fell on the side of the highway when the two vehicles collided head-on.
Abu Zafar, station manager of Bhanga Fire Service, said that the injured persons were rescued and taken to Upazila Health Complex by members of Fire Service and Highway Police. The doctor declared Jahangir and Alamgir dead there. Apart from this, 29 injured people were given first aid. One of them is the driver of the pickup van.
Confirming the matter, Bhanga Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Tansiv Zubair said that 2 people were killed and 29 injured in this accident. 12 of them seriously injured have been shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
