Chorki to Honor Late Content Creator Karina Kayser at Upcoming Awards Gala

The OTT platform Chorki has announced it will bestow a special posthumous honor upon late content creator and actress Karina Kaiser, who passed away last month in Chennai, India, due to liver-related complications. The tribute is set to take place during the “Chorki Carnival,” an event marking the platform’s fifth anniversary scheduled for July 3.

The carnival will serve as a celebration of the platform’s content library from 2023 and 2024, culminating in an awards ceremony that recognizes outstanding performances and productions. While Karina Kaiser had been nominated for Best Actress for her role in the web film *36-24-36* in the 2024 Subscribers’ Choice category, organizers have decided to withdraw her from the competition.

Redoan Rony, Chief Executive Officer of Chorki, explained that the decision was made to honor the late actress’s legacy by placing her above the constraints of a competitive category. Rony noted that while her body of work remains, the platform aims to pay tribute to her significant contributions through this special recognition during the awards show.

As the industry prepares for the event, the nominations for the 2024 Subscribers’ Choice category have been finalized, with titles such as *Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya*, *Toofan*, *Last Defenders of Monogami*, and *36-24-36* competing for Best Film. Subscribers are currently able to cast their votes for their favorite artists and content across various categories, including acting and music, through the official Chorki website.
