Actress Asma Jhilik Dies After Fall From Dhaka Hospital; Husband Arrested Following Murder Allegations

The entertainment industry is grappling with the sudden death of actress Asma Jhilik, who died on Friday after falling from the eighth floor of a private hospital in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area. The incident has prompted a police investigation and sparked public outcry following allegations of foul play brought forward by the actress’s family.
Jhilik, who gained prominence for her appearance in the film “Rangbaaz” alongside superstar Shakib Khan, was reportedly at the hospital for medical treatment alongside her husband, Saifulllah. The victim’s family has formally accused Saifullah of murder, claiming that a domestic dispute escalated before he pushed the actress from the building.
In response to the accusations, local law enforcement arrested Saifullah shortly after a case was filed by the family. Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Saiful noted that while the suspect remains in custody and an autopsy has been performed, investigators have not yet uncovered definitive evidence to support the murder allegations, pending further forensic analysis.
Jhilik, once a recognizable figure in both television and cinema, had largely retreated from the public eye following her marriage to Saifullah, a producer. Associates close to the couple suggested that her departure from the entertainment industry was driven by her domestic priorities and a lack of support for her professional career from her husband.
