Ministry of Public Administration Appoints 611 Candidates from 49th Special BCS Education Cadre

The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a gazette notification appointing 611 candidates to entry-level positions within the education cadre through the 49th Special Bangladesh Civil Service examination. The notification was officially published on Wednesday.

While the Bangladesh Public Service Commission had initially finalized recommendations for 668 successful candidates based on the results of the 49th Special BCS examination, 57 of those who cleared the evaluation process were omitted from the final appointment gazette. Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific rationale behind the exclusion of these 57 candidates.

The 49th Special BCS examination, conducted in 2025, originally sought to fill 683 vacant posts across various branches of the BCS General Education cadre. Although the Public Service Commission had provisionally nominated 668 candidates in order of merit following the viva voce examinations, the commission noted at the time that 15 positions remained unfilled due to a lack of suitably qualified candidates in certain designated categories.
