FARMGATE, DHAKA — The NextJobs Career Summit and Job Fest 2026 was held on Tuesday at the Krishibid Institution in the capital, aiming to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers while fostering a skilled workforce aligned with the nation’s evolving labor market. The day-long event drew thousands of job seekers, industry experts, and representatives from over 100 organizations across various sectors.
Nazneen Kawser Chowdhury, Secretary and Executive Chairman of the National Skills Development Authority under the Prime Minister’s Office, attended the event as the chief guest. She emphasized that academic credentials alone are insufficient in the modern labor market. She urged job seekers to cultivate technical and professional competencies alongside essential soft skills, including communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, to meet the demands of contemporary workplaces.
Shoeb Hasan, Chief Business Officer of NextJobs Limited, stated that the organization is dedicated to providing 360-degree human resource development services. He noted that the summit serves as a vital platform, bringing together candidates, recruiters, industry experts, and skill-development initiatives to facilitate direct and effective engagement.
A key highlight of the event was the direct recruitment drive, where approximately 2,500 candidates interviewed for 750 available positions. Beyond recruitment, the summit featured interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and career guidance provided by seasoned professionals and industry leaders.
The event was also attended by notable corporate figures, including Md. Afsar Uddin, Chief People Officer of Akij Resources; Toufiq Hasan, Chief Business Development Officer of Akij Resources; and Aktarul Islam, Chief Business Officer of Akij Agrilife.
