Japanese firm submits proposal to operate and maintain Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Third Terminal

A Japanese consortium, Sub Working Group, has formally submitted a proposal to operate and maintain the Third Terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The documentation was delivered on Tuesday afternoon at the headquarters of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
Masahiro Hirai, representing the Japanese firm, handed the proposal to CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal M. Mafidur Rahman. Senior officials from the civil aviation authority and members of the Japanese delegation attended the event.
According to a press statement issued by the aviation authority, the submission includes separate documents detailing both technical and financial components. These proposals are slated for review by an evaluation committee established by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
The committee is composed of representatives from various government bodies, including the CAAB administration and planning wings, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Public-Private Partnership Authority, and the Roads and Highways Department.
The evaluation process will be conducted in phases, beginning with a technical assessment followed by a review of the financial proposal. Upon completion of the evaluations, the authorities will engage in discussions and negotiations. Once a consensus is reached, the final date for the contract will be established in accordance with official procedures.
