Bangladesh faces severe power crisis as 62 plants suffer production disruptions

The national power grid is currently grappling with a severe supply crisis, as 62 power plants across Bangladesh faced production disruptions on Thursday, according to data from the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB).

The widespread interruptions resulted in a peak load-shedding deficit of 3,664 megawatts during daylight hours on Thursday. Official records indicate that 20 of the affected facilities were completely offline, while the remaining 42 operated at limited capacity.
