Bangladesh reshuffles 17 senior police officers including new superintendents for three districts

The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have announced the transfer of 17 senior police officials across the country, including new Superintendents of Police (SP) for three districts. The reshuffle involves three Additional Deputy Inspectors General (DIG), nine officers of SP rank, and five officials at the Additional SP level.
The reassignments were formalized through five separate notifications issued on Sunday by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the DMP headquarters.
Under the ministry’s directives, Madaripur SP Habibur Rahman has been transferred to Narayanganj, while PBI SP Fazle Elahi has been moved to Madaripur. DMP Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Talebur Rahman has been appointed as the new SP of Pirojpur, replacing Mohammad Monzur Ahmed Siddiqui, who has been reassigned as a Special SP of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Other notable reassignments include Police Staff College SP Shamima Yasmin, who has been posted to the Traffic and Driving School (TDS) in Dhaka. DMP DC Md. Jashim Uddin has been transferred to the Noakhali Police Training Center (PTC), and Rasheda Begum, an SP at the Mymensingh Range DIG office, has been moved to the Police Staff College.
In the higher administrative ranks, Wahidul Haque Chowdhury, an Additional Commissioner of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police, has been transferred to the Tourist Police. Additionally, Nazmul Hasan, an Additional DIG at the Chattogram Range DIG office, has been assigned to the Khulna Metropolitan Police.
The DMP headquarters issued separate directives for mid-level command shifts within the capital. DC Md. Sharfuddin has been moved to the Procurement and Workshop division, while Azad Rahman, formerly of the Traffic Wari division, has been assigned to the Diplomatic Security division. Mohammad Nure Alam, previously with the City Research and Development division, has taken over as the DC of the Traffic Wari division.
The reshuffle also affected several Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADC). Sonahar Ali has been moved from the DB Mirpur division to the DB Gulshan division. Md. Sajjad Hossain has been reassigned from the Welfare and Force division to the Cantonment region of the Gulshan division, while Mohammad Abir Hasan, previously of the Cantonment region, has been appointed as the Staff Officer to the DMP Commissioner. Furthermore, Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury has moved from the DB Ramna division to the POM East division, with Nazrul Islam moving from the POM East division to the DB Ramna division.
