BGB blocks BSF attempt to push six individuals into Bangladesh through Chapainawabganj border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has blocked an attempt by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to push six individuals into Bangladeshi territory along the Ramdaspur border in the Gomastapur Upazila of Chapainawabganj. The individuals remain stranded in the “no man’s land” area between the two countries following the intervention.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Thursday near the Ramdaspur border outpost, which falls under the jurisdiction of the 16 Naogaon BGB Battalion.
According to a press release issued by the BGB, members of the 12th Battalion of the BSF, stationed at the Shamsher Nagar camp, attempted to force six men across the international border. Upon receiving intelligence of the movement, a patrol team from the Ramdaspur BGB outpost arrived at the scene and successfully prevented the group from entering Bangladesh.
Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Islam, commander of the 16 BGB Battalion, confirmed the details of the standoff. He stated that BGB authorities have formally requested a flag meeting with their Indian counterparts to resolve the issue.
