Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight diverted to Muscat following passenger death

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight traveling from Jeddah to Chittagong was diverted to Muscat International Airport on Wednesday following a medical emergency involving a female passenger who subsequently passed away.
Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, public relations officer at Shah Amanat International Airport, confirmed the incident in a formal press release. The passenger, identified as 55-year-old Sanoara Begum, fell ill shortly after flight BG-136 departed from Jeddah.
Upon landing in Muscat, the passenger was attended to by medical personnel at the airport, who officially declared her dead. Airport authorities are currently coordinating with the Bangladesh Embassy to facilitate the repatriation of her remains.
The aircraft has since resumed its journey to Chittagong and is expected to land at Shah Amanat International Airport later this afternoon. Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific cause of the passenger’s death.
