Bangladeshi Triathlete Mahbubur Rahman Completes Ironman Estonia with Personal Best Timing

TALLINN, Estonia — Bangladeshi triathlete Mahbubur Rahman, currently based in Germany, successfully completed the full-distance Ironman competition in Tallinn on Saturday. The 32-year-old athlete navigated the rigorous course—comprising a 3.8-kilometer swim, a 180-kilometer cycle, and a 42.2-kilometer run—in 10 hours, 6 minutes, and 13 seconds.
Official event data ranked Rahman 55th out of 223 participants in the 30–34 age group and 256th overall among 1,655 competitors. Rahman, who works as a web developer in Germany, attributed his success to personal resilience, noting that the race faced a one-hour delay due to dense fog and was further complicated by rain during the running segment.
Reflecting on his performance, Rahman stated that he achieved his personal best timing during the Tallinn event. He expressed his commitment to representing Bangladesh on the international stage through his ongoing participation in global endurance sports.
The race was won by Remy Conte of France, who clocked a time of 8 hours, 8 minutes, and 4 seconds. Viktor Bartin of Denmark and Aurelien La Ley of France secured second and third place, respectively.
Rahman’s athletic career includes a history of notable endurance achievements, beginning with his successful 16-kilometer swim across the Bangla Channel from Teknaf to Saint Martin in 2018. Over the years, he has participated in various international Ironman events across Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Spain, and Switzerland.
Beyond triathlon circuits, Rahman distinguished himself in 2026 by completing the Monaco the Bavaria Classic Ultra Cycling race, a prestigious cross-country challenge covering 1,537 kilometers across Germany, Austria, and Italy. That performance earned him a “Hall of Fame Finisher” designation. To date, Rahman has completed four Ironman 70.3 races and three full-distance Ironman events, alongside various marathons and ultra-marathons held in Germany.
