Bangladesh Home Ministry Announces Major Police Reshuffle Affecting 23 Officers

The Ministry of Home Affairs has reshuffled 23 senior police officials in a series of administrative orders issued on Wednesday, including the appointment of new Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG) for the Rangpur and Barishal ranges.

Mohammad Abdul Mabud, previously serving as the Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police, has been appointed as the DIG of the Rangpur Range. Meanwhile, Md. Zulfikar Ali Haider, who held the position of DIG in the Industrial Police, has been transferred to serve as the DIG of the Barishal Range.

The administrative overhaul also affected leadership positions at the district level, with reassignments involving the Superintendents of Police (SP) in Kushtia, Panchagarh, Narayanganj, and Khulna.

Kushtia Superintendent of Police Mohammad Jashim Uddin has been transferred to Gazipur, while the incumbent Gazipur Superintendent, Md. Sharif Uddin, has been moved to the Highway Police. Md. Aminul Islam, who was serving in the office of the Sylhet Range DIG, has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police for Kushtia.

In Narayanganj, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munshi has been transferred to the Highway Police.

Khulna Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tajul Islam has been reassigned to the Armed Police Battalion (APBN). He is succeeded by Sarkar Omar Faruq, an official previously stationed at the Police Staff College, who has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police for Khulna.
