Bangladesh to scrap first-grade entrance exams by 2027; SSC results set for August 10

The Ministry of Education announced on Thursday that all primary schools will abolish entrance examinations for first-grade admissions beginning in the 2027 academic year. Moving forward, the selection process for first-grade students will be conducted exclusively through a lottery system.

While the new lottery mandate applies to the entry-level grade, the ministry clarified that all other grade levels within primary and secondary schools will continue to utilize competitive entrance examinations to determine student enrollment.
